Mr Arif Khan is a highly experienced Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, appointed in 2005. He trained at University College Hospital London and was awarded his CCST by the Royal College of Surgeons. With a special interest in keyhole surgery, Mr Khan is a national trainer in minimally invasive colorectal and haemorrhoidal procedures and a JAG-approved endoscopist.
He has led colorectal services and enhanced recovery programs (ERAS), and is a specialist in the treatment of bowel conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, anal fissures, fistulas, and diverticular disease. Mr Khan is also an expert in laparoscopic gallbladder and hernia surgery, including sports hernia repair.
An internationally recognised figure in colorectal surgery, he is widely published, actively involved in teaching and training, and serves as a Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University. His commitment to excellence is reflected in his roles as FRCS/MRCS faculty, appraiser, and member of national surgical committees.
